MTS says Apr–Jun smartphone sales rise by 32% to 135.6 bln rbl
MOSCOW, Jul 4 (PRIME) -- Smartphone sales in Russia increased by 32% on the year to 135.6 billion rubles in April–June and by 50% to 6.6 million units, mobile operator MTS, which also runs a wide retail chain, said on Tuesday in a statement.
“Within a short period, we succeeded in turning the tide and not only restoring the assortment but also expanding it significantly. Now many new devices appear in Russia simultaneously with the world or even earlier,” Andrei Gubanov, general director of the operator’s retail chain, said.
“The Russian users’ higher interest to smartphones was helped by expansion of credit tools and the launch of multiple marketing campaigns after a long break.”
In money terms, the top models were the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Pro. In units, the bestsellers were Xiaomi Redmi A1+, Tecno Spark 8C, Xiaomi Redmi 9A, Realme C55, and Realme C30S.
